Dr. Sara Berg, MD is a board-certified dermatologist with advanced training in all facets of medical and surgical dermatology.
Dr. Sara Berg treats the entire spectrum of skin conditions with a special interest in cutaneous oncology and other complex medical dermatological conditions. She also has expertise with a broad range of therapeutics including the most cutting-edge treatments for common skin conditions such as alopecia, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Dr. Berg also performs outpatient surgical procedures to remove both skin cancers and select benign skin lesions.
Dr. Sara Berg's Dermatology Education, Achievements, & Background
Dr. Berg joins us after serving as the director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic at Beth Israel Lahey Health for several years. She championed the formation of this program to provide her high risk complex medical and oncologic patients with more comprehensive care in collaboration with other specialists. While at Lahey, she also served as a clinical preceptor and instructor for the Harvard dermatology residency program. She has lectured on a national stage and has been published extensively in numerous peer- reviewed journals for both her basic science and clinical research.
Dr. Berg completed her internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and her residency at the University of Pennsylvania where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed a fellowship in Cutaneous Oncology also at UPENN during which she trained under many world- renowned experts in the field. Dr. Berg received her MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Berg is on the consulting staff at Newton Wellesley Hospital and is accepting new patients of all ages. She is thrilled to part of the team at DermWellesley and looks forward to continuing to treat patients in the local community.
